President Halimah Yacob will be hosting a virtual Istana Open House (IOH) on Sunday, 2 August 2020, in celebration of National Day.
For the first time, the IOH will be hosted on President Halimah’s Facebook and Instagram. Members of public can visit the IOH by tuning in to the livestream at 10.00am on 2 August. Close to 150 beneficiaries of the President’s Challenge and The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund will also be joining the IOH.
Visitors to the virtual IOH can experience the Istana grounds via a multimedia interactive tour featuring some of the lesser known areas (such as the well and the bunker, which are usually not accessible to the public) within the Istana.
Visitors can also interact with an artefact from the National Museum of Singapore in a specially curated digital space called “Zoom into History” and enjoy sneak previews of the Asian Civilisations Museum’s virtual galleries and National Day programme. As part of the National Day celebrations, viewers will be introduced to NDP2020’s “Our Heart for Singapore” project, which shares Singaporeans’ reflections, thanks, hopes and aspirations for the nation. The programme line-up is included in the Annex.
